Rouen, France in 2015 – Part 6 – The Church of Saint Joan
In 2015 while anticipating a concert tour with my church choir, I participated in a cruise of the Seine River beginning and ending in Paris, France (where I’d meet up with the choir). One of the ports of call was the city or Rouen, and these are some photographs of my experience there. I’ve made several sets of my time in Rouen because there are a lot of pictures I’d like to share.
The Church of Saint Joan is in memory of Joan of Arc, the famous female warrior. It is built at the site where the martyr was burned at the stake. It is a fairly modern structure.

You again! Thanks for the thumbs up! I think you viewed all 6 sets about Rouen. (No more, I promise.)
I saw the same and agree it is beautiful probably as beautiful as Joan herself
Nice set
Thanks for sharing
Thanks,very interesting....
Longshadow, OK!
Toment, you're very welcome. Though modern, it is a lovely church.
Daryl, I appreciate your comment. Thank you.
Can’t say much for the building. But you did a nice job.

"Fairly modern???" That's some church. Not exactly Notre Dame, is it?

Oh my God.....I would expect to see this in Barcelona but No......France. Wow , the roof rafters are huge and I feel sorry for the carpenters & roofers with this one. The lead glass windows are really gorgeous and some of my favorites. The sheer scale of it is exciting to witness. Thank you David for another great set.
cameraf4, it is very different from Notre Dame (as it was). Thanks.
Charles, thanks so much for the 3 thumbs up. I'm glad you liked it.
Jay, glad to accommodate. Thanks again.
blacks2, nice to see you came, too. Thanks for the compliment and the 3 thumbs. Glad you liked it.
Blair, I'm so glad to see you. Thanks for the very nice words. The windows dominate the interior, almost like Sainte Chapelle in Paris. You're welcome.
