Both Sigma lenses are macro, as I said in my original post the Sigma 105mm is older than the Sigma 70mm.

Then it’s reasonable that the older, wiser and more experienced lens should deliver better results. Perhaps user involvement has corrupted the data.

Cannot be compared. Notice the gross exposure difference, 1/30@iso1600 and 1/80@iso500, same aperture. About 2.5 stops. There’s nothing to discuss.

Oh? So for you a WB accuracy is dependent on a camera settings and is expected to be different depending on your choices?

Sorry, it does not work that way. One darker the other lighter? More noise? granted. Color cast? No way.

Neither is more accurate.
Comparison is impossible.

Well I took the picture hence I can say the background is more accurate on the Canon, exposure triangle would not change that.

Yes user error, maybe I'm to blame, I make mistakes all the time.

I think that this is as much a test of two different lenses mixed with two different camera resolutions. Either the R6 is a bad camera choice or the lens does not compete with a macro lens for close up work. Thanks for the post, but there are many variables here. The canon image is no where quite in focus which makes me suspect a lens issue.

I am not saying the R6 is a bad camera, this is a macro shoot so the depth of field is very narrow, I should have used focus stacking or manual focus. However I chose using a tripod and AF instead.
Actually the R6 focuses much faster than the A7RII.
