Trying to decide which one to invest in, I shoot mostly landscapes and nature and trying to decide if the extra length will be worth the extra money.
If you are just starting out with Macro photography, the 100mm macro lens is a good place to start. The 180L allows a much greater lens to subject distance. If you are asking about a general landscape lens (not macro) I would choose a 24-105 zoom or the equivalent. For landscape work you will need a wider angle lens over the 100mm.
I have the 65 and the 100L.
The 65 is macro-only but goes to 5x so it would add substantially to your scope but not be much use to what you are doing so far.
The 100 is a great standard lens and focuses to 1x macro. It is a great flower / insect lens and not bad for approachable wildlife.
I picked the L for the IS.
Well I decided to buy the 180L but if I don't like it I may return it and get the 100L, will have to see I have 90 days to try it out...
I think it depends on whether you are using a crop or full frame DSLR. If crop frame, use the 100mm. If full frame, use the 180mm. The 180 becomes an effective 270 on the crop frame body, which would be very difficult to keep steady for tack sharp images.
i recently blew the budget buying a 100mm L macro its a brilliant lens not just for macro for just about anything it even came with a leather pouch and a lens hood wow aint i lucky a free pouch and lens hood from canon
No I use full frame and I will be using it on my tripod. I hardly ever shoot my 70-200 without a tripod either. It will be interesting I am sure and looking forward to playing with this lens and seeing what I can come up with.

I think the 180mm would be to long a focal length for landscape and the 100mm may also be to long especially on "C" sensor cameras. As others have suggested you may want to have two lens like the 24-105 and the 100mm macro.
