This one has a bit of everything - a ship, sunny weather, the gap in the reeds, tide just right.

That's lovely, R.G. I like the imposing coastline. It's quite dramatic. The ship is interesting and really adds a sense of dimension. The colours are really pleasing. The horizon line is level (one of my own faults, so I notice). There's enough foreground interest to draw me into the scene, and a nice line to follow to keep me there.

Thank you APL. It sounds like the composition works (at least for you ), starting with the gap in the reeds. Thanks for your comments.

I certainly agree, Coz’, that on some occasions there is a metaphorical divinely inspired and effective conspiratorial interaction among all available compositional elements that are trying to shout to the photographer who is in the mindset that “more PP is always better” to “...just leave it the

To that I would add that my PP skills aren't good enough to simulate perfect conditions as effectively as the camera could capture actual perfect conditions. Conclusion? It's better to let reality do the work rather than try to simulate it. Thanks for commenting, Coz in the Territories.
