The 'Ship Skeleton' on Chatham Beach, Cape Cod is a Robinson Crusoe sort of ediface comprised of various bits and pieces of flotsam assembled into a quirky shelter complete with a two-hole latrine. I visualized this shot months ago with the aid of the Photopills Night AR app. I framed the shot with my phone and scrolled through the dates until I had the Milky Way where I wanted it and then came back on the appointed day last week. Fortunately I had a nice clear sky. However, the skies in Chatham are not really dark and the nearby Chatham light shone its beacon on the top half of the structure every ten seconds or so.
Shot with Sony A6000 and Rokinon 12mm f2.0 at ISO's 600-1000 and 20-30 seconds. Light painting was with a $2 LED and a found blue plastic mushroom tray. I only have basic slider PS/ACR skills.

For someone who questions his own skills, this is an excellent shot. Hoo-ray for the A6000. I'd probably lower the yellow tones.

Nice. Don’t touch the yellows.

The camera is nothing unless a person knows how to use it. For me, the only change would be to remove the flag pole. The fluttering flag is unnecessary.
What a great shot. Planned and executed perfectly. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Well done Phil and don't be hard on yourself......it's a wonderful image. Congratulations sir. Good Job !!!
Thanks for all of the generous feedback.
I know we all get great satisfaction with capturing those impromptu moments that just 'happen', but I also enjoy visualizing and planning a shot and having it come to fruition exactly as I had imagined it.
