Can 't help wonder if this is Photoshopped

I can't help but wonder if this photo has been Photoshopped. Seems like if this actually happened there would be some blood, etc. someplace? I don't see any physical damage to the elephant other than the locomotive is on top of it.

Agree. I don’t see any damage to the elephant.

If you Google "train hits elephant", you'll find that it is not that uncommon, although mostly in India. Included in that search are many photos, including this same one.

It's too bad, but it does happen.

A quick Google search did't reveal where or when this incident took place but apparently such an event is not uncommon.

I agree! The TRAIN should surely CRUSH the flesh of the elephant. The density of elephant flesh could not support the weight of a multi-ton train engine. IMHO.............RJM

I had four friends all killed in a car accident, many years back.the boys were both 19 and the girls were both 17......My friend, who lived next door, had not a mark visible on her dead body.

I’m sorry that you lost your friends but people can die from internal trauma that would leave no visible marks on the body. I think a train landing on an elephant would leave visible signs.

Think about it, 20 tons of train on top of anything would at least flatten it out a bit. This is just too much ELEPHANT showing unfettered. Again, just IMHO......RJM

Every locomotive has a cow-catcher which would positively prevent getting under the wheels.

Did you happen to look at the photo? The elephant is UNDER the whole train. What did the cow catcher CATCH?? . Could well be a manipulated image...RJM

Show me!

Worked for a RR since 1966, never saw one on a modern locomotive.

You do know , a train weighs 80 tons or more? This one is on the soft part on the elephant and NO indent at all of the soft area. I rate this as, B_ll S__t.
