Great memories, Eugene! I was stationed there from 1964 - 67 with the 3rd Infantry Division and we were paired with the German 17th Panzer Division. #2 is the Marienburg Festung. The crops below it are grapes for Franken wine, a unique local wine. Also home of the university where Roentgen discovered x-rays.

Nice shots. Know the area well. Have been to the castle twice, once before our son was born in Wurzburg (born 1964), and then when we took him back, 16 years later. Lived for two years in Bavaria.
