A friend and I went to Pedernales Falls State Park today to see the "waterfall" they have there. Well, the Pedernales River is so dry there is no waterfall at this time. Here are a few shots I took of the area. It was a nice, hot hike to get there.
This is a smalll spring that should be in the river.

I love how vast your "scenic view of the park" shot is. It looks like it goes on forever. That would be a great shot to repeat in each of the seasons, then have the series framed (if you haven't done so already)
Nicely done.
Thanks Trina. Unfortunately in SC Texas it looks this way pretty much all year long. The major difference is the temperature might get down to the 40s or 50s during the "winter" and up to the 100s during the summer/fall time. I would like to get up there after a nice rain to see if there is enough water to start flowing down the river bed.
Ahhh, LOL fair enough.
I'm up in Alberta Canada so at the very least we get some pretty snow. We don't like it a lot, but it makes for some nice pictures.
A nice series to show a part of the country I've never visited. Thanks for posting these. The first is my favorite, so well composed. Good job.
Thanks Treepusher. Believe it or not that was the only "flowing" water in the river. We've been in such a drought that about all you see are rocks on the river bed. My friend and I thought it would be a tad cooler the day we went to the park, but it got up into the high 90s with no breeze. It was just too hot. We're waiting for it to cool down before venturing out for a photo hike again.
