I have done literally hundreds of Smoke shots, but this was my first go at Plasma. Shot with a Sony A9 35mm at f1.4

Very cool! Could you describe your process for capturing these images? I'm imagining one of those glass globes that I used to see at the mall kiosks. The ones that attract the "lasers" when you touch the glass. I don't think that's what this is, so I'm curious.

Mike you are correct, it is a plasma globe, not sure what type. Hardest part was managing the reflections. I stood above the Globe and shot in the dark. I tried a couple of lenses at different aperture settings but for me and the size of the globe, a 35mm worked best wide open. I leaned in and out rather than try to chase with manual focus.
