Thanks everyone for your comments. I have cavalierly been known to say, to shoot a great landscape you have to put yourself in front of a great subject. But I was naive about what that experience would entail in order to be able to get a Milky Way shot.

During the heat of shooting when the stars burst in view clearly for a short period of time our group leader Pete checked and made sure I got the shot and I'm glad he did. And this was all done in near total darkness climbing and standing on a sandy hill that I couldn't see in a wilderness area that we were driven to in 4WDs.

Taken during a Peter Lerro workshop last weekend. Actually, my first Milky Way shot. It was rainy and cloudy for the entire workshop except for 45 minutes at 2:00 am Sun. morning when the clouds broke up. All the thanks go to Pete Lerro for a positive attitude, getting us to this location, and never giving up. I would never have guessed it would work out.

Outstanding image

Milky Way images are cool. Lighthouse images stir my soul. But your image here ... words fail me. Oh, WOW!
