The blistering heat of this past weekend slowed my outdoor activities...but didn't prevent them completely. Luckily, yesterday and today were notably cooler and I had an opportunity to visit several favorite outdoor locales. Here are a few photos taken during my recent outdoor trips. All photo were taken with a Nikon D500, handheld, using a Nikkor 200-500mm telezoom, set on M(anual), single-point focus, Auto-ISO, at around f/6.3 and 1/2000 sec, and using Back Button Focus. Some of the photos made me think of particular captions...see below. Hope you enjoy.
And thanks robertjerl for the great idea for a caption to the Red-necked Phalarope photo. Much appreciated.

I love #2. #5 is a Red Neck? Drinks Bud, listens to Hank and Johnny, speaks with a drawl and drives a tiny pickup?
Great images. Thanks for sharing.

JAK, an awesome set and your captions sure do add to them in humor or naming the type of bird.

New caption is cute. I am just weird. But when I first moved to California my brother and I got called Red-Neck etc (Beverly Hillbillies was the #1 show on TV). My brother kept going to the office for fighting. I turned it around on them and had them believing some of the most outrageous things about us. "No, my Grandmother doesn't smoke a pipe like Granny Clampett, she makes her own hand rolled cigars." "Never had a moon shine still but I worked as a guard for the neighbor. Shot at a revenuer once, he fell in the creek and I didn't see him again." - That one had me getting some weird looks and some people went out of their way to not get me mad.
