I used to use a Nikon SLR, but my friends and family would make fun of me because the pix were always blurry. Then I switched to a Fujifilm XP, but the technology has updated and I cannot download pix to my computer anymore. Help?!

Have you contacted either FujiFilm support, or your PP manufacturer support?

I think you need to provide more information. You cannot download - using a card reader? By cable connection to the camera? By opening the photos in a post-processing program? If so, which one? What computer and operating system? Are you trying to open JPG's or RAW files? From File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac), can you see the photos?

First welcome to UHH. A little more information as to "what is or what is not happening", and the procedure you are following in trying to download your photos would help us to help you.

The Fuji will not download photos that are blurry.

See what the manual says about getting the pictures into your computer.

Maybe, in addition to replacing your camera, you should replace your friends and family.

Possible issue could be that your camera's settings are set to RAW files and when you upload to your computer etc, the RAW files are harder to locate and recognize. Check your camera's settings to make sure you've adjusted to jpg files.

As for the blurry image issues, if your camera has a touch screen option, force the camera to focus on something within the image and don't forget to wear your glasses.

Lastly, never rely on allowing the camera to auto focus on what you're interested in shooting. Always pin point the focus if possible or the camera will focus beyond the subject. Here's a for instance:

In one of my posted images about train tracks.. If I had left the camera settings alone, it would have auto focused farther down the tracks or the entire image would have been in focus. Instead I wanted to focu on the right hand tracks and because I didn't have my glasses, I ended up focusing (pin point by touching the view screen) and ended up on the rocks in the middle of the track.

Without knowing what processing software you’re using it’s hard to answer your question. Your problem could be: Old software that doesn’t recognize your Fuji files.

I shoot Nikons, and Panasonic, and Sony, and I find that they’re all capable of blurry shots. They’re also all very capable of very sharp, well focused shots. The blurry ones are always because I didn’t attain correct focus before shooting, or using too slow a shutter speed, or getting my peanut butter and jelly sandwich on the lens. Ok, I’ve never actually done that and rarely eat PB&J these days, but I imagine it could cause blur. Anyway, the point is that while it’s always fun to get new gear and the Fuji is a fine camera, that alone probably won’t solve a problem with blurry shots.

You should always be abler to copy the image files from the SD card (Or whatever media your camera used) to the hard drive of the computer.

You have conflated several issues that are not related. Nikon, as can any camera, take very sharp pictures. But lenses may also have an impact. Fuji downloading is unrelated to sharpness....and Fuji does not have the corner on the sharpness market.

I suggest some self Lear I gotta on the exposure triangle...available on YouTube. Then some learning on downloading pics (actually uploading to computer). Suggest you take the card out of the camera and upload with a card reader.

Probably they were blurry because the camera was set for too slow a shutter speed.
I assume it was a Nikon DSLR if you could download to your computer.
If you are trying to use the Nikon app to download, it probably doesn't like the Fuji camera.

Franklin, I have been shooting for “quite a while” and I am still capable of making blurry shots with any camera. So methinks that if I get blurry shots that is not because of the camera.

Please provide more info. Tell UHH what has changed?
