After my bison work, I went to our back porch and noticed that the spiorea was attracting many bees. I took out the 85 mm and tried my hand.

Good ones, Mike! I’m struggling a bit figuring out dof with my 100 mm macro but looks like you’ve got it down!
Very nice, Mike. Great focus, great color. All you have to do is wait for one of those girls to leave one flower for another and you'll have a BIF.
Very nice set Mike. Color is pleasing, and really good focusing.

Thanks, Marg. I understand your issues. My 85mm is a 1.8, so I need good light and a high D0F to get an entire bee in anything like focus, Marg. If it were not so windy, I might have tried for classic shallow DoF shots.

Glad you stayed safe and did not get bitten by those bees in your great series of images. Good Work Mike

Thanks, Chief. It was windy, so I just worked on those sitting (just like my non-BiF shots).

Thanks for the visit, Stan. These bees are very docile and do not cause us problems.
Mike, You have a lot of chromatic aberration in image 1 & 6 what camera are you using?

Thanks for pointing that out. I usually do not check for that in my PP. I used Topaz AI sharpen. My camera is a Sony a7R3 with a Zeiss Batis 85mm f/1.8 lens. Any ideas for avoiding that in the future?
Mike hate to say it, but the Sony is notorious for having this type of issue. One surely can't blame the Zeiss lens.. Most would tell you it's the lens, I've seen others report this type of issue with their lens when it's not the lens at all. Yet there are some lenses that cause this effect and not be on the sony unit. One possible cure could be firmware update if you haven't already. I've not research firmware updates in a while so I can't verify.
Bokhen noticed chromatic aberrations in # 1 and 6. I checked and I erroneously posted the same shot twice. Attached is what I should have posted for #6 and the original 1 and 6 with chromatic aberration PP applied.
I had never set chromatic aberration correction in Lightroom for this lens.
