I spent a lot of time yesterday trying to make a new Facebook account. I've done it before, but now it's not working. I made one for myself and one for a group. Now I want to make one for another group. No matter what I do, it keeps circling back to my own page/account.
Any ideas? Step-by-step directions?
Clear the cache on your browser???

I've given up on the new account. Instead, I just added a page to my own account. I've uploaded a bunch of videos, but they don't show without ding a search.
For some reason this is a problem with Facebook. I used the app “Friendly” which allows to create 2 accounts or multiple accounts on the same computer/tablet etc. To complete I had to defriend myself from my wife’s account.

I got the result I wanted by clicking on Add a Page.
Notifications on the new FB do not work with Chrome. They do work with Edge, which I detest
It is a violation of the Facebook terms to create multiple accounts (one personal and one biz page allowed per person). I'm sure a lot of people get away with it, but maybe they figured out what you were doing.

Wow! I know so many people who have multiple accounts - for their pets, for example. One of the choices I found was "Add Account." I couldn't figure out how to do it, anyway. I added a Page - whatever that is.
A number of years ago I created a FB group for our local dog park. Then a few years later my administrator status was abolished. My queries to FB were ignored, so I never found out why.
Although I was able to "Add Page" and upload some videos, I can't find that page today. Ridiculous!

What if you don't want multiple accounts, just a new one?
When I sold my business I tried to make a new account because the old one belonged to the business. I had to give up. Most frustrating is facebook is no help. No tech support no email, nada!
Use a unique email address and create the new account in private/incognito mode or with a different browser. FB will have no idea that the account is for an existing user.
Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try.

I got a new Gmail address, but even that wouldn't let me open an account. I guess my computer gave me away.

A new email addy is half the solution, Jerry. You need to use a different browser or incognito mode to prevent Facebook from using cookies to ID you, if that even matters.
I assume you signed out of FB before trying to make a new account with the same browser. If not, that is likely the problem.
