Canon DPP4: What do you know about using the shooting distance information slider
I was exploring Canon DPP4 a bit and came across the 'shooting distance information' slider. It seems to be working (because it is not grayed out) once I went in and got the correct profile for the lens. But what does it actually do, and how do you use it to adjust your image? Yes I know you slide it, since it is a slider, but if there is an impact on my images, it has got to be extremely subtle, unless I'm missing something.
It is on Page 74 of the DPP manual, which doesn't seem to explain what is supposed to be happening when the slider is slid:

I don't normally use DPP so I can't respond from experience. From what I've read it seems like a fine tuning adjustment for the other lens distortion corrections based on focus distance. I'm curious to hear responses from someone who uses it.
Interesting. So it changes the lens correction values of the dheckmarked corrections based on the shooting distance slider?
