I need a small pocket camera to carry in my harness when I'm flying. I have a Nikon Coolpix S8100 which is just about the perfect size but I'd like to have something with a 1" sensor. My budget is about $200 for a used one. I don't want to have separate lenses, just something I can take one hand off the control bar, turn it on and start taking pictures. The subject matter will be 20 to 30 feet away. I really like the looks of the Coolpix A, especially it's aps-c sensor. I've only seen one at KEH at the top of my budget. All suggestions appreciated. One other requirement, it has to be absolutely silent in operation.

I have not seen a feature to turn off the noise associated with taking an image on any 1" sensor camera..

I'll be in Washington state so, yeah, probably, but that's not the subject I'll be looking for.

It's not absolutely silent but very quiet, you can't hear it more than a couple feet away. I agree with the Oly Tough series.

My go to pocket camera's are all from Sony. I have used many over the years with great results. My current go to pocket camera is the Sony HX99. It shots RAW, has a very accurate pop up viewfinder and also a rear screen, has a very sharp Zeiss 24-720 mm lens, pop up flash for auto fill flash. The rear screen pops up for low angle shooting, see lighthouse below. See last photo of my belt pouch. And, yes, there are many used on ebay for about your price. See HX20, HX50, HX90 on ebay.
Oh, did I mention, I have commonly enlarged images from Jpeg with this camera to 30X40 with outstanding results.
I would also recommend a belt pouch for this camera so you are hands free most of the time on vacation. My wife likes it because I can hold her hand when not exposing.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end. Below are samples of images I get on vacation with the pocket Sony HX series camera's.

Look for a used Olympus Tough TG5. Small and it can take a beating. Underwater, 7 foot drops, pouring wind driven rain.

I hope that you will not be flying over my home while I am sunbathing in the nude. Not that I would care however seeing me may crack the lens of your camera.😂

I look at compact camera reviews occasionally, but I have yet to find the perfect one. Lots of pluses, but several minuses. I guess that sums up life on earth.

Look at the Canon G9X--1-inch sensor and fits into your shirt pocket. Under $200 used.

Probably not a 1" sensor, but the TG-6 can be tethered and can be shot silent. Used, it should meet your budget.
