Hello, UHH-ers.
I am considering entering these into competition. Any feedback is welcome. Suggestions for improvement? Changes that should be made first?
Images I should not submit?
Thanks in advance.
Pic # 2.you should have told your subject to stick out its thoung. ha ha just kidding. they all look great to me.
They are all good shots. Best of luck in the competition. Thanks.
The bolt of lightning is your best bet IMHO. vz
For me the last is the winner. It's colorful, sharp and very eye-catching. It has a happy, innocent feel that would be very welcome anytime, but especially in 2020.
The snake is cool, although if mine, I'd try to lessen the brightness of the white spots, especially upper right corner. The birds are common, both as species and the images you shot. The lightning - I'm not sure. It seems well done, but I guess would depend on the category in which it's entered, the competition, and of course the preferences of the judges.
Have fun and good luck!

Thank you Linda from Maine and the others who have responded so far.
Best advice I can give, check any previous competition winners and consider your choice in that context. Otherwise, lacking that, I have to agree with Linda on the last shot.
A lot depends on who your judges are and what they are looking for. Judges are just human too. Personally, I prefer #1 and #2, with #1 being the winner based on originality, skill and effects. It is just WOW!
Certainly find out as much as you can about the contests and what types of pics have won in the past. But for originality and execution, I'm impressed with the first and last shots.
First and last shot depending on the theme of the competition.. First is well caught and the last is bright, colorful and sharp...

The snake is the most unusual.

I agree but I do not think the head is as sharp as it could be..
Very nice shots. The last two are my favorites. The tri-colored heron is sharp and nicely posed with a great reflection. The last shot is unusual and pure joy!
