OK so the HDD crashed, I got new SSD for programs, & 2TB for storage. Had to buy (ouch) win 10.

went to re-install PSE 10. seems as though "no can do". my question is what's the next best PSE to install? I really don't need newest and best version. I would have been OK with PSE 10, (but not compatable).
any thoughts.... ver. 13,14, 2019, 2020? also best place to buy? thanks in advance

Frist, you have to see what's available. If you liked 10, try for 11, etc.

Here's PSE 13 for $35 plus shipping.

You might want to try to figure out why 10 wouldn't install, so you can figure out which of the available versions don't have that problem. Or you could just skip a few lattes at Starbucks and buy the latest (2020) version from Amazon for $60, which is guaranteed to work under Windows 10.

What is the problem with PSE10? I have it on my Win10 machine, but from the downloaded install file and installed (migrated to new machine) back in 2016 rather than today.

I'd buy the newest version directly from Adobe, being sure to save the original install file into my back-ups for the next planned (or unplanned) migration of equipment. There will likely be an 'point update', either after you install the download or later in your usage life of the software. Always seek to save those updates as download files rather than direct installs. Save the file into the same secure backups as the original install file. From Adobe, you may get a discount as an existing PSE customer, assuming the software is registered in your Adobe profile

For a few dollars more compared to what you've spent on repairs, why not upgrade? There are always improvements each version. $60 for 2020 https://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photoshop-Elements-2020-Disc/dp/B07X4S9DJJ

How big a hurry are you in? Later in the Fall the newest version of PSE will likely go on sale for half price, as it has done for a number of years now. Keep an eye on UHH as well as on the ads in your local papers!

I had a hard drive replacement and couldn't reinstall PSE 15. I contacted adobe and told them of the problem and they gave me a new install key.

Both Adobe and Amazon had Elements on sale for 59.99, Adobe is until Sept 7, as you know Amazon prices can change at any time. Why not start with the newest on your new PC, you might enjoy some of the updates. Enjoy, whatever you decide.🙂

Ron, since you will need to obtain a newer vs. of Elements, why not go for the latest (2020) that you know will be compatible with your new computer setup? 2020 is a great bit of software and you won't have too much trouble 'catching up' with any changes, especially cosmetic ones. You'll realize quite a few new and handy things 2020 will do, compared to the older version you had.

Good luck with whatever your decision is.
God Bless,
Papa Joe

I use PSE 2014; more than adequate for my needs. Have looked at PSE 2020, don't see enough enhancements to justify changing.

I am using PSE 14 and am happy with it, but if I were in your situation I would upgrade to the latest version.

If you look on best buy you may be able to get a labor day sale and safe a few bucks. It's about $60 there too.

Don't know which was the first version to have content aware but I love that tool.
