Shot this with window light. Used 8 stacked images processed using HeliconFocus Software then output in tif format. Imported into Photoshop and worked on minimizing the blown out areas, not all was recovered. Did just a little more sharpening with Unsharp masking. Left the background in to give it depth. Please see Download for a sharper image.

Thank you Carol. The set is close to 40 years old, a few bits have broken off some of the pieces.🥴

What photogenic critters! Have we ever seen any in a different setting - one of your fanciful composites, perhaps?

I love the natural light, would kind of like to have a more neutral background as the depth of the pieces themselves - the positioning and composition - seems excellent. Details of the critters are great!

I might have posted another picture of the set but it was just set up simple shot taken several years ago. I haven't used them in an of my composites. I felt the background crated some depth, almost 3D. I thought about setting up a simple background but it would then take on the staged still life mode.🤔
Natural light can be the best at times. On this photo shoot the sun was moving around through a tree out front. I needed to take 7 or 8 stacked pictures and wasn't sure if the light would be moving around during the shooting causing some issues. As it was it came out just fine.
