In the marsh near local boat launching ramp. Pulled up and saw this Great Blue Heron in the "ready to strike" position. Positioned car, turned car off (vibration reduction), got camera out of bag, turned camera on, got lens cap off, zoomed, tried to get focus lock - all within about 5-6 seconds. Lucky I got a few shots in focus. Heron was about 50 yards away. Heavily cropped. In the last picture - head-on image - I think I was being told it did not appreciate having its picture taken.
