What do the scriptures say

In his letters, Paul told women to shut the hell up in the church.

If you believe that's the word of God, go with it.

I just think it's the words of a very controlling misogynist.

An apparent distortion of Christian forgiveness.

So you’re the arbiter of what is genuine Christian forgiveness and what isn’t? And what is your background that gives you that right? Are you a Christian speaking from experience, or do you just spout jibba jabba because you’re infected with TDS?

Headship was given to man at the very beginning. Woman was created to be a helpmate to man.
Notice Adam and Eve. God held Adam accountable not Eve. Notice Gen 3-12 where he tries to shift
the responsibility to her.

Christ is clearly the head of the church just as the husband is supposed to be in the marriage.
Now note Ephesians 5-22:26
Pay close attention to verse 25.
This is what most miss as did i til I was asked to give it some thought.
We are suppose to love our wives as Christ loved the church, and what did He come to do;
yep serve.
The man has to be following the will of God the teachings of Jesus in order for his
wife to submit.
Please don’t disprove me with your own opinion. But refute me with the Holy Word of God.
I do believe in the past you have identified yourself as a Christian. So if you can with the guidance of the Holy Spirit educate me
correct with scripture I welcome it.

All of the various texts of the Bible were written by men in a time when women were viewed as close to chattel property. It's very misogynistic through the filter of today's view points.

If you believe those scripts written by men to be the literal word of God, then I understand your perspective.

I am Christian, but I just don't share that perspective. Its the Good Book, full of guidance, but to me it is not the literal revealed word of God. It is the very well intended word of men trying to figure God out...which can't be done in my opinion. So it's not perfect. Only God can be perfect. All men, even the authors of the various texts we know as the Bible today, are imperfect. Even Paul.

Here's some scary stuff Christian.

"500 Faith Leaders Endorse Joe Biden And Kamala Harris For The White House"

"The diverse group of backers includes an evangelical preacher who last v**ed for a Democratic p**********l candidate in 1976."

Lisa Sharon Harper, a Christian writer and founder of the faith-based consulting group Freedom Road, told HuffPost she believes Biden is a “man of true faith” who is guided by Jesus’ commandment to love God and love one’s neighbor. Harper decided to break from her regular practice and explicitly endorse the Biden-Harris ticket because she believes “now is the time for clarity.”

“There is no time to mince words. A second Trump term could deal a mortal blow to our democracy. It would surely deal a mortal blow to the witness of the evangelical faith,” Harper, who identifies as evangelical herself, told HuffPost.

“Faith leaders will be held accountable by God and history for how we used our voices right now,” she added. “Did we bless our neighbor or did we curse them. That will be the question.”

"No Rasta Christians on the list yet but I'm personally working on them." Texcaster

Not scary at all for Christians. And she’s not a Christian leader. Christians are divided on Trump. Thats the reality.

Then my questions to you are.
Do you believe in the diety of Jesus Christ
His death on the cross and that God raised Him from the dead?

I believe in the teachings of Jesus.

The stuff men made up about him to create a surviving powerful church...not so much.

But we needed a church that would survive. So they served one of God's purposes...in their own flawed way.

The deity of Jesus...there is something divine about him. How else can you explain a 30 year old man bringing a message from God for just three years, just three years of preaching his message...and over 2000 years later much of the world still follows and worships him? That is pretty Divine. If you want to believe every word in the Bible is God's literal word, fine.

I don't understand how anyone can believe that...but I don't have to.

Well my brutha as for myself I will err on the side of caution.
Respectfully I will leave you with this.
When I leave here I definitely don’t want to hear Matt 7 22-23.
We are supposed to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Do U 2

You are young in Christ...much growth ahead if you are willing.

In your own direction of course.

God does not give us all the same path.
