Editing film clips in Photoshop Premiere 2018.

I have never seen any evidence of film photography/editing in several years of looking at some (many) awesome photos on UHH.
However: my question; in cutting clips in order to delete unwanted parts, I end up with multiple sometimes tiny pieces that I want to keep. They are now lots of small individual clips and I would like to turn this into one big segment. I have been unable to find info in any of the tutorials. Does anyone have answer to my problem? Thanks.

What you describe seems to be standard video editing workflow.

Are you using Premiere Elements (long term, single payment license) or Premiere Pro (monthly subscription)?

I just have 2018 paid version of Premiere elements, not Pro. I find that having all these bits makes for easy mistakes and would like to convert snippets to one solid clip.
Thanks for responding

Click here for You-Tube videos. Two on the first page look promising.

I highly recommend this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xPQaLu2wko&t=7s

Although it is for version 2019, it is nearly the same.

bsprague,

Thank you very much. I just watched the 8 tutorials for the 2019 Adobe package and while I have learned a few more tricks, there is no specific info on how to stitch all the individual clips back into one. I am a novice with this premiere package; I have had it on my machine for a year but this is only the second time I have tried to work with it. Fun but steep learning curve !!
I now think that if I load the project using "expert" and then go back to "guided" I will be able to accomplish what I need with a lot less agitation!

HamBar,

You load the all the individual clips (video files) into one project. Then trim each as appropriate and finally "Export&Share" a new video file that has all the separate parts 'stitched' together.

What part of that isn't making sense?

You can do this in Photoshop. No need to use Premiere.

Hi,

Thanks. I didn't know that "export" would stitch all clips together. I assumed that this was done after all editing was complete. I will try it and see if I can then pull it back into editing mode to add music and narration tracks.
My problem right now is that I can get the myriad clips in the correct order but when I add anything to the music track the spaces on the video keep opening up and if I correct that, the music track splits and opens.
I really appreciate your responses and items of help.
I will try the export toggle sometime this afternoon.

Call Premier Elements tech...they'll walk you through the process. So far, I'm only trimming the beginnings and ends of videos. After designating, I right click on the portion to omit, then click on 'delete and close gap'. I would assume that would work in interior sections, also.
Good luck...I'm still learning, also...I need some guidance in getting into the basic editing process...adjusting brightness and fixing sound... That's next for me!

Thanks for the response. I am actually trimming out sections of original film strip "clips" to eliminated unwanted parts of the film strip. I normally have no need to manipulate start and final scenes of each download.
I have received information from another UHH member and he has told me that when you click on "export", the program I have automatically knits all the pieces that I have made into one continuous "clip". When I get back to my computer, I will see if doing that works and if it will allow me to go back to the editing modes to install music and narration without basically screwing up my video track which occurs now.

Thanks again,
Larry
