The Astoria-Megler Bridge and Astoria, Oregon photographed at sunset on August 25th from Point Ellice, Washington on Hwy 101.
Astoria, a port city on the mouth of the Columbia River, was founded in 1811 and is the oldest city in the state of Oregon. It was the first American settlement west of the Rocky Mountains. The Bridge is a steel cantilever truss that spans the lower Columbia River, between Astoria, Oregon, and Point Ellice near Megler, Washington. It opened in 1966 and is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America at just over 4 miles long.
Both photos were taken from the same point the bridge facing South and a little East and the sunset facing almost due West.

#1 OH my GOD,i love it.i give it a 9
#1 is a beauty for sure!! I give it a 10.
I drove that bridge. I'm terrified of bridges, so you can imagine how white knuckled I was! Luckily, my truck has no fear! Nice images.
Does this camera have some form of pixel-shifting? The detail is amazing in #1. Stay well and keep on shooting!
No pixel-shifting that I am aware of, but I'm pretty sure there is a "loose nut" behind the viewfinder.
Sorry I should have put in the details: Nikon D810 with a Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 lens and a 1.4 teleconverter so shot at equivalent to 280mm f/11 at 30 seconds.
Thanks for all the comments and viewing.
