Awesome shot! Made many runs in WWII. My Dad flew a B-24 over Ploiesti, Rumania more than once and was the last one standing from his platoon! Hero he was that brought us our liberty in America!

Thanks. You should be very proud of your dadโs sacrifices during the war. My dad piloted an LST in the war. I went and joined the AF when my turn came during Vietnam and worked on spy planes. So when I see something like this one flying about I just have to try and get a good photo.

The B-25 was the plane that Jimmy Doolittle used to bomb Japan in April of 1942. There was a book written by Ted Lawson called 30 Seconds Over Tokyo that tells the story. It was made into a movie staring Spencer Tracy as Doolittle. Great airplane with a glorious history.

I remember that one. There was a newer version made that had Alec Baldwin in it, but the original was better.

I'm just starting to build a Revell 1/48 scale B-25J. Debating whether or not to use the supplied decals or buy different ones. I was trying to find copies from planes I photographed at Oshkosh over the years, but they're either a different variant or they aren't for sale. I haven't built a model in years, but I don't own an airbrush or the skills to modify a model so I'm not quite sure how it will turn out. Some of the YouTube videos of scale models are insane...5 or 6 layers of different paints for subtle effects, making their own parts to replace ones supplied etc, etc.

I was an avid model builder in my youth. Built quite a few RC model planes in my time. The aircraft dope really gets to you when youโre closed up in your bedroom. Maybe thatโs why Iโm so mentally challenged.

I heard this guy flying around today and got in a few shots from below. I believe itโs a B-25. An intro from Wiki:
The North American B-25 Mitchell is a medium bomber that was introduced in 1941 and named in honor of Major General William "Billy" Mitchell, a pioneer of U.S. military aviation.[2] Used by many Allied air forces, the B-25 served in every theater of World War II, and after the war ended, many remained in service, operating across four decades. Produced in numerous variants, nearly 10,000 B-25s were built.[1] These included a few limited models such as the F-10 reconnaissance aircraft, the AT-24 crew trainers, and the United States Marine Corps' PBJ-1 patrol bomber.
