Good morning all. My Nikon D3 has the dreaded ERR message. After looking online for fixes I believe it is time to send in for repair. I call Authorized Photo Services. The gentleman I talked with assured me that they do repair Nikon as well as my D3. My question to you is has any one had any experience with this company?

I recently had a lens repaired by Authorized and I would recommend the company most highly. Service was prompt and professional and the lens was 100 percent repaired at a very fair fee.
They have done work for me in the past. It is a very reputable company and their prices are fair.
They only work with Nikon cameras and lenses.

I think this guy repairs all brands. But you have to send your camera to Saigon.
Nikon "I believe" has stopped supporting all repair service independent people. They only want you to use them.
That is what I was told. You may want to check it out as they will not supply the parts to them.

I erred in my original reply to you. The company that did my lens repair was Authorized Camera Repair in Willow Grove, PA. The name is very similar to the company of which you are seeking information and I neglected to pick up on the difference. Again, my experience with Authorized Camera Repair was outstanding. They have a website with comprehensive information on their services. I dealt with "Matt" and could not have had a better experience. Good luck with your pursuit for repairs.
In spite of the "Authorized" shop name, effective earlier this year Nikon no longer "authorizes" anyone other than their own factory service and repair facilities.
This goes hand-in-hand with Nikon's policy established 8 years ago of no longer providing replacement parts to anyone outside their authorized "network" (which used to be about 15 or 20 shops in addition to their own... but no longer exists).
What this means is that anyone other than Nikon themselves struggles to get any replacement parts that might be needed to effect a repair. Not all repairs require replacement parts or might be able to use "generic" parts, third party produced parts or used parts from donor cameras. But, depending upon what's needed in this case, it may or may not be possible for a shop other than Nikon's own service facilities to make the repairs.
Note: Nikon
does sell some camera parts online. But if you look at the list you'll see it's mostly just things like replacement battery doors, rubber grips, etc. It's mostly not internal parts, such as might cause an ERR message in a DSLR.

They have been around for a long time. Good and reputable.
Thank you all for response. I'm not sure which way to go. Nikon website doesn't even cover the D3 just the D3x. So it doesn't look like they would fix my old D3.
You might ask shops if they have parts to fix that lens. Also contact Nikon
Totally recommended! I have been using them for about 10 years now, once or twice per year for either sensor cleaning and/or repairs. Along with cleaning and/or repair, they will update the software for free. Great guys and reliable. I have visited their location numerous times to drop my equipment when I visit the Chicago area and the repair is not ready by the time I leave Chicago, they mail the equipment to my house very securely.
Thanks again for all the responses.
