Thanks for sharing your great photo. I'm always amazed at the great variety of dragonflys. And they are one of my favorite subjects.

Thanks so much Paul. That's what I like the most about this forum. I've gotten to know a lot of people and everyone is more than willing to share their experiences with photography so each of us doesn't have to reinvent the wheel. Sharing of knowledge has really kept me here. The variety of dragonflies is quite amazing and while we have any beautiful species you would not believe some of the amazing dragons and damsels around the world. I get a lot of PMs asking for dragon IDs. I make the same offer to you. Have a great day, Be safe and be well.

This was shot at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge which is an inviolate sanctuary expressly for migratory birds, located east of Milton, Delaware. This is a male Seaside Dragonlet (Erythrodiplax berenice). Erythrodiplax are found mainly in salt marshes of the eastern United States. It is unique among dragonflies of the western hemisphere in that it can breed and larvae live in brackish water as well as the salt water of the costal marshes and back bays.

Thanks Merry. I really didn't have the right lens but. it was a fair shot. not what I would have liked. These guys are found around the salt marshes on the costal plain. The can tolerate salt water as larvae. Someone should film me trying to extricate myself from knee-deep goo in the bogs, swamps and marshes! Great comedy reel!

Thanks Jim. Not sure why I posted it. Very poor quality shot. Wrong lens. Glad you enjoyed the narrative though. I looked over your other forum site. Wow! Amazing photography. Loved the Blue Dashers and Slaty Skimmer. Tack sharp.
