I have been using Windows 7 for years. Long story short, new computer, Window 10. Trying to download 6 TOPAZ previously purchased plug ins for which I have the license numbers. I think I did it correctly but I don't know where to look to be able to have them show in my Photoshop CS6! Any help for an 80 year old with memory issues is greatly appreciated.

Look in a folder called 'Downloads' under your user profile. This 'Downloads' folder will be on the save level as Desktop, Documents, Pictures when you open Explorer.

Microsoft is dropping support for the 32bit version of Win10, not dropping Win10.

I'm a little confused, but Topaz was once a collection of individual apps. Now those apps have become part of a "studio". I think that means that you get a newer version for your new computer at no additional cost! Contact Topaz.

Not exactly. A number of older plugins do not exit for their new tools based on Studio2, or have been incorporated into a new for purchase-tool that are part of Studio2. Those legacy tools are available for download from Topaz, for free, as always. They just need their purchased license key to enable after install.

I'm interpreting the OP's problem this way: he opens his version of Photoshop, but cannot find the Topaz products as plug-ins. If that is the case, can someone with that PS version assist?

I bought a Windows 10 computer 2+ years ago. I had purchased Topaz Detail and Topaz Simplify in 2013. I went to the Topaz site, downloaded them to my new computer, and was able to use them as plug-ins with my Photoshop Elements 2018. I don't recall if they showed up automatically or if I had to go through the steps specific to PSE to find them. I assume the steps to alert PS to "new" plug-ins is fairly simple?

I think the Topaz website will have the info you need. A new version of Windows isn't going to change how Topaz works. You will install the app the same as you did when you had the Win7 machine. If you downloaded Topaz to the old machine, use those downloads to install Topaz. If you have a CD or other media that has your Topaz app on it, then use that. Most of the time when you have an app, you can look for a text file amongst the install program and it will tell you how to install it. Just look for any and all .txt files and double click and read them.

Here's their instructions on how to do it on a mac and pc.

Not true at all. They will no longer update the 32 bit version of Windows 10, which has a tiny user base as this point. but they will continue to support it and will continue to provide security updates for it. That's a good thing. There are absolutely no plans to drop the 64 bit version of Windows 10. There are now more than 1 billion PC's world-wide running Windows 10. I'm not aware of the inherent problems, of which you speak, which would give you, or anyone the idea that they plan to drop support of Windows 10 in favor of "something new".

Try , start button, windows system, os C , program files(x86). should be in there somewhere. or

users\you\app data\roaming\adobe\photoshop\modules\topaz. this is what it shows for my LR plug-ins & replaced LR with PS. Also you would be your user name. Hope this helps.

It took me a while to get use to the different look for navigating win10 coming from win7 .

I agree with you on the supposed Windows 10 issues. My experience with Windows 10 has been very good. I have been using MS operating systems since the DOS days. In addition, I have been using an Apple Mac along side Microsoft systems for the last 15 years. I would have to say that Apple was preferable when compared to Windows Vista, XP, 7 and 8. But since Windows 10 came out, I would have to say that it is much preferable to the Mac IOS.

I have had NO issues with Windows 10 and my system has experienced no shutdowns, blue screens or other problems. I ran LR/PS along with Faststone and Irfan image viewers with no problems. I recently purchased PSE 2020 and am considering dropping my LR/PS subscription. It loaded easily and is working as advertised.

The majority of the problems with Windows issues appear to be centered around compatibility issues with low end hardware and software. This can often be fixed by downloading the proper drivers. Hardware vendors, often on cheap, low end items, do not spend the time to properly test and implement their interface hardware and software drivers. This also goes for some software written by fly-by-night software companies who, like the hardware vendors do not properly test their software properly or thoroughly. This improperly designed and tested hardware and software is often the core of the problems seen on Windows systems. You know that message you get when installing a new piece of hardware or software that asks if you really want to allow this item to make changes to your system? You need to think long and hard before you just hit "YES" and move on.

I can honestly say that I have had no problems installing or using hardware or software from reputable companies on my Windows 10 machine.

My condolences about being forced to downgrade to Windows 10. Worse than Windows ME and Windows 8. I am in the processes of moving back to Linux. Painful but worth it in the log run.

Windows 10. Things change at a whim. Update Hell. I grew up with Windows, Linux Unix etc. Used them as an Engineer and software developer. Windows 7 was great I developed Seismic recording systems based on Windows 7. Huge systems.

Windows 10 was shoved down up or Ass and performance went to pot reliability went down. Management got impossible. Enough!

Rant over. I think. :-{
