And just when I thought they couldn't possibly get any prettier, Tom! Beautiful vine and blooms made even more so by the white trellis. Beautiful images!!!

Thank you so much, Donna. I appreciate your wonderful comments very much. I don't know why I've never thought of putting Clematis there before. That trellis has been there for many, many tears. I did try planting climbing Roses there way back in the beginning. I soon learned that there was no such thing as "climbing" Roses. One has to nudge the stems onto and around the various landing spots and tie them on with clips or very light gauge wire. It's a never ending job. The Roses didn't like it there anyway.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the Clematis in the spring and I hope they make it their permanent home. An explosion of blooms would be fun.

Thank you so much, Donna. I appreciate your wonder... (show quote)

Tom, would you happen to know the variety of clematis? It's the most beautiful, intense blue, and I wonder if it would thrive here. Some kinds do OK and some don't.

I sure do, Donna. It is "H.F. Young Clematis". Likes 3-6 hours morning sun. Not hardy in zones 1-3. I'm in zone 7.
Looks like you are in zone 8 or 9. Keep moist the first year, after that, 2X per week.

Thanks so much for the info, Tom! Got it all copied! I think we're in 8b, so should do fine.
