That brings up a question. CameraRaw won't work with my new camera. I have CS5, but don't have the $$$ to upgrade to a newer version. Is it possible to update CameraRaw without updating to a newer version of PhotoShop?

$9.99 a month gets you PS and LR and updates. Nothing better!

After completing installation of files, programs, ... updating all software and drivers, backing up all drives, I was not able to process RAW files in Adobe PS CC. Tried everything I could think of, but no success. The program would "freeze"(not able to move sliders). I finally decided to activate a Chat from Adobe Creative Cloud. The Tech spent about 1.5 hours with me. He finally decided that it was Camera RAW that was causing the issue. He eventually downloaded and installed, directly from the Adobe site, a fresh copy of Camera RAW. Bingo-that worked! Now I can enjoy the speed of my new PC opening RAW files. Wow!! It is fast. I love Chats and when available, I use them frequently. No hearing issues, no accents to deter my comprehension and they seem to be much faster than phoning.

Yea, Adobe!! Some "Uhhers" severely criticize Adobe, Microsoft, Win 10, ... My experience has been a very positive one with tech support and the products. I installed Win 10 within two weeks of its initial offering in August 2015. Loved it then and still love it. I'm not criticizing those who complain and post divergent views. I just enjoy sharing positive experiences.

Be well and safe,
Thanks for viewing.

Wow, congratulations mark on getting your new computer up and running. I knew you'd like it I love mine there super fast. but I'm surprised you have the problem since you re-download it and reinstalled everything. But you could have gotten the glitch in it then the download that happens sometimes for your download file won't work you have to re-download. Anyway now it's time to have fun.

I doubt it would work. If you've got the installation files, then you can try it. You can't upgrade to a new version, unless you go to the $9.99 a month, none of them are supported. For the $9.99 you get a lot more, and as you have just read a great support system.

Thanks, Frank. Not sure why the issue occurred, but it is resolved, thanks to Adobe Support.

Just a note to mention that there is at least one chat service listed on the Adobe pages that charges for the assistance. Don't fall for this scam. Just abort and look for the Creative Cloud offering that Mark mentioned. I do not remember just how the scam site was labeled but you will know it fast enough.

Right!! Just open the Creative Cloud app, go to "Help"/ Contact/Virtual Chat and complete. Within a short while, you'll be "chatting" with a tech support person. I never attempt a connection at "normal hours". Everyone does that. That's like going out shopping for groceries on
the weekend!

Well, I found Adobe tech support friendly, but not so effective.

I have an 8TB hard drive of images, formatted by my iMac, that will not open in the current Bridge. After several hours in several discussions, including "escalating" the issue to a higher power, I'm still left with using Bridge 2019.

I don't even know what I'm missing in not being able to use Bridge 2020. I do get the updated ACR when I open files, but it does make me wonder.

Sorry your issue was not solved. I have a brand new PC. After reading your note I opened Bridge. All of my drives (6 internal and 4 external) display and I have access to each of them. Issues like that are very frustrating. I hope you find a solution.

Thanks, Mark. For now, I'm just resigned to Bridge 2019. If that starts to have trouble with ACR, I'm going to have to go back at Adobe; for now, I've other things to do.

You can subscribe to the Adobe Photoshop Cloud Photography Plan for $9.99 per month.

The plan includes Photoshop, Adobe Camera Raw, and Bridge. It also comes with Lightroom.

You cannot beat that deal with a stick. You'll get the premier photo-editing program on the planet.

You will need a connection to the Internet.

You're right, but there will still be those here who gripe about it.
