Interesting abstraction, but a bit confusing - music is scored for guitar, body of the instrument looks like a violin but it seems to have a guitar machine head. Maybe if you continued the texture of the body into the music, you could reduce the "flat effect of the score.
Just my opinion, of course - I am not sure that I could build a composite like this with my current skills!
Keep up the good work and stay safe!

I like everything about it except for your choice of gray for the vignetting; something leaning towards a reddish brown would fit much better into the overall color scheme of the image I think.

I like but wanted to see more... as usual you do a imaginative job that grabs the interest of my eyes.

I appreciate your comments although I didn't do any composites with this one. It is just layers of different textures in different blend modes over a photo I took of the violin. I found the violin at a yard sale. The music had been glued to the violin and it had been made into a clock. The strings and the tuning knobs were gone and the bridge at the bottom removed. I thought it would be an interesting subject to shoot.

I like your idea of the grunge effect on the whole body. I will have to play with it to see if i can do it.

Thanks!

Thank you for pointing out the vignetting. It is not in the jpg when I view it on my screen but now I do see it in the one i posted. I'm not sure how just posting it could have added it. Very strange.

Thanks Don. I have played with several different versions. One is a full view of the violin. I will post it for you but the textures and treatment are very different.

Wonderful project. The background is the perfect offset to the violin. Skillful masking and use of textures is, of course, something we have come to expect from you. Both technically and artistically you have the touch.

Intriguing work that had me coming back several times before I was able to express my reaction. The color - as seen on my Chromebook - is a bit overpowering, though when I take it further to orange and yellow, the gray corners disappear and I like it better.

I also prefer the image rotated 90 degrees so it's vertical. This is more comfortable for me to enjoy the shape and unique textures. I fully understand that "comfort" may be the opposite of your intent

Very stimulating and memorable work, Keni!

Jack you are very kind and thank you. No masking in this one though just layers, textures and blend modes.

Thanks Linda! I really don't understand the grey in the corners. I only see them when I posted it to UHH. Not in my original. Here is another treatment that might be more up your alley. At least it's upright.

Lot's has been said in terms of suggestions. I would just like to add that I really enjoy seeing your process. You explain your intentions really well and then we can follow your progress through the various iterations of your work on an image. Really captivating. Keep up the good work.
