Check page 148 for the exclusions (such as you can't be in HDR mode or using the electronic shutter):

Have you tried calling Panasonic technical support? Try calling the store where you bought the camera for support.

Thank you ! I did contact the B & H tech and he {Ryan} showed me what to try. it was due to wetness. They now have audio-visual system that helps a computer illiterate like me. Thank you again. Shang
