I wish that had worked with my wife's diamond from her engagement ring. It cost 8K to replace a carrot.

My wife lost the stone in her ring cleaning carrots for the farm stand. Checked the trap but we were flushing gallons of water through the sink so the stone went to the septic tank. Was a sapphire, not a diamond.
Great story. A few years after we were married I lost the diamond out of my wedding ring. At that time we were still young and broke and could not afford to replace it. On our 25th wedding anniversary he surprised me with a replacement diamond in the original band.

It took quite a few years for us to be in the position for me to replace it (i.e., the kids grown and gone!!). I replaced it on our 45th. She didn't see it coming!!

And I bet she was as floored as I was. I did not see mine coming either. It is appreciated when you guys can be sentimental like that. Congrats on 45 years. We are at 38 now.

we have been married since the mid 1990s....I never wear my wedding ring and engagement ring unless I am going out. The garden work is not the place for my treasure/
I had lost my wedding ring, and it was gone for about 3 years. One night, my wife had dropped something between the cushions on the couch, and pulled up my ring. I will most remember her standing at the top of the stairs yelling to me: "Bill, come up here right now!" Of course, I flew up the stairs and there she was holding my ring with her ever famous look. One of my favorite memories of her.
Wow that was one slow growing carrot.
