Poor little thing

Spotted this small bird in a 5' high bush next to my porch. It was very still and did not move other than blink his eyes. He allowed me to get extremely close because I was gently moving branches away to get a better look. It seemed to be in a lot of stress. After taking a few pictures, I returned about an hour later and he was gone.

Tom, great set and it looks like he is wet and cold. I bet he got warmed up and flew away, at least I hope so.

If you look at the tail feathers, to me, they look to be too short. Maybe he got attacked by something.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by for a look, Greg.

Tom, I see what you mean and you maybe correct. I still hope he survived.

Looks like a baby fresh out of the nest, Tom. Take a look a the side of its beak. His mom and dad were probably not far away. Glad you were able to get some super shots of him.

I just found it to be very suspicious that I could almost touch him. I was that close. He was sitting there extremely still and seemed a bit scared.
I hope he's doing OK since he left the perch.
Glad you got to see him, Donna.
