Tried something a bit different for me. Don't do much B&W because I'm never really happy with the results. I've seen some images lately that have saturated blacks and balanced highlights using some motion in the image. Here's my try. Done in LR, PS, Topaz and Luminar.
Hmm, seems a bit too dark to me, and I love contrast. I think try to lessen the effect for everything except the bright cliffs.

Too dark, not enough detail unless you were going for dark and gloomy storm coming in which case a good job.
Experimenting is a good way to survive being stuck by the Covid thing and avoiding going out.
I like how the sky is dark

Great work!!!Tom
I like the drama created by the dark shadows and clouds.
I agree. Not detail in the shadows.
The download is stunning, though I agree that it would benefit from being lighter.
i find that BW works especially well in harsh sunlight.

I think that is absolutely lovely. I would imagine the IQ is somewhat better on your computer screen than what we are seeing here and therefore I’ll bet there is more detail in the dark tones than others have commented on here. We see tons of Grand Canyon shots on this site and for me, this one really stands out. The dramatic tonal variation really makes for a stunning image. You may want to lighten up some of the dark tones just a tad to see whether you like it, but not too much, you will end up loosing some of the drama. Worth a good sized print on a paper with high d-max. Lovely!
Thank you for all your comments. The original is lighter than what shows on the UHH post. I've lightened it up to hopefully show what I see on my screen.

Much better lighter. I might even consider a little lighter. It would look really good printed on canvas. The canvas texture would enhance the ruggedness of the canyon and would also hide the out of focus horizon. I go print large, 30x40 or larger. image begs to be large. Good job.
Second image much better Tom. I like it.
