Here are some shots from my home in the Tampa Bay area. Great skywatching in the summer.

Great shots. I have been trying for lightning without a lot of success. Of course you live in a higher lightning density area than I do. Anyway, I would be interested how you go about it.

I got the lightning the old fashioned way. I waited for a good night storm coming my way but not yet raining too hard. I saw where the bolts were striking. Set up my camera in manual, from under my open garage. ISO 200; f-13, shutter 20 sec, 50mm lens set to just under infinity. Took about 20 shots to get this one. You have to be patient.
I also have a MIOPS trigger, but it does not seem fast enough to get the bolt.

Over here on the east coast our opportunities are more scarce so I have been using ISO 100, f/22, aperture priority and accepting whatever shutter speed I get. I have been thinking of adding an ND Filter to slow it down. Also, I have been using an 18-105 mm lens at 18 mm to cover a wider range of sky. So far I have one puny stroke out of 105 exposures.

Very nice, we do have some great cloud formations as the duty thunderstorms come through daily!

Not to many places you can get shots of sky like that. Florida certainly has them. Nice shots.
