This is usually true but not always. I bought my Tamron 180mm macro lens from, I think, Newegg because they were selling it at $80 less than the major camera retailers. The very next day the lens was not even listed on their site which had me extremely worried that I had bought a grey market lens knowing that if so I could forget about the six year warranty. After receiving the lens I registered it with Tamron with no problems. The three major retailers I nearly always use though are B&H, Adorama and New York Camera and Video.

To Good To Be True.

Didn't you get the UHH code book when you registered?

A few bucks in the pocket in the short term may not be the long term best solution. I agree if "TGTBT" it usually isn't.

5 years ago, I bought my backup camera, Nikon Coolpix P7800, from Newegg. I too was concerned (I do a lot of business with Newegg for computer parts) but it was the last place I could find one (the usual BandH, Adorama, etc. were out of stock where I'd bought my other cameras). Given Newegg does have a decent return policy, and buying with AMEX, figured I was covered. No worries, new camera, registered fine.

B&H has the best service in the business, and good prices, but I would never say they have the lowest prices. They actually tend to sell everything at list price. Discounted prices were the norm 5-10 years ago - but they have moved to a list price establishment.

They do have sales, and they often provide freebies with items, which effectively lowers the price from the list price. But you still spend the full list price cash, whether you want the free items or not. With a camera, free items typically include a memory card, or a case, or UV filters. Nice items to haver, but not always needed.

No bargains at B&H. Just the best service in the business.
