I came to UHH more than six years ago, not knowing a lot about photography or post-processing. I was just getting into Photoshop in 2014, and it was intimidating. Digging through UHH postings and asking for help from UHHers led me to become better at "framing" potential stories with my camera shots, then improving them with software. (I use PS, Nik Collection, Topaz Labs, Topaz Studio 2 and, possibly most importantly, TKActions. They allow me to manipulate digits locally in ways that amazed me once I "mastered" them.)
Thus, I ask for the opinion of other experts, because a little tweaking can make a shot so much better.
Thank you for providing me the platform to thank UHH.

It is a Happy Place for photohogs!!!
I too have learned a lot in the UHH photography group. Getting ideas solving problems equipment ideas there’s a wall been great. Sometimes some people just don’t want to listen and other times you open your mind and think why did Nite think of that before?
I just want to thank everybody for their help and kindness along the travels here at uhh

I'll wager this expresses the sentiment of many here on the Hog. We just do not often express our feelings and thanks. Thank you for expressing my thoughts about the forum.
I can't start my day without it! I'm totally addicted to you guys! I really appreciate your knowledge...and your humor and generosity!
Kudos!
I too want to thank all of the hoggers that give so freely of their vast knowledge to help those of us who do not yet know everything they would like to know about photography. UHH is such a rich source of knowledge for me. I have only been a member for about a year and a half, but in that time I have grown tremendously as a photographer by reading UHH.
I visit every day searching for more gems of wisdom that I can use in my photography. It has been an incredible learning experience. You can't get this kind of valuable information from classes for which you pay so dearly. I absolutely love this forum.
Great forum. A lot of valuable knowledge; and people like me that have so much to learn who really appreciate the feedback we get on UHH. Always someone willing to help; thanks Marv for the manual for my camera & the many others whose explanations & suggestions have helped open the world of photography to me enormously.
I also have benefited greatly from the knowledge the members of this forum have given me.
Thanks to all for your generosity in sharing your expertise.
Thanks for starting this topic. I lurked and learned for a long time, and am now participating because I want to show my appreciation for all the generosity and knowledge of the members here! Thank you!
Thanks Dave for starting this thread. I've been able to get many pointers from the discussions here and I hope it has improved my photographic skills. Many of the long standing members have given much of their time and expertise to other members, a very generous thing to do.
its good
to appricate this resource and be a source as well
Yes, no matter your experience, UHH is a wonderful asset! Thanks to all the participants, this is the spot to get good advice and (be careful) sometimes, not such good advice. Always consider the source, there are some loose cannons around here! No offense intended.Everyone's opinion has value..
I too have read and learned most I know about photography from these forums and if there was no UHH my camera and lenses would be where my golf clubs are right now at the bottom of the lake!
It's remarkable how skilled and proficient some people are at what they do and here we get to see it every day.
