Has anyone out there heard of a price drop coming on the Sony A7III from the current $1,995, seems like it’s about that time, Thanks

It was on sale for US$1,798 a couple of times over the past few months. It probably will drop a couple of hundred dollars more once the A7 IV comes out, but probably not before. There is no announced date yet--it may be late this year, or perhaps early 2021.

The a7III is so good, I can not imagine what they would do to make me part with any more money. That is another problem in the camera industry. How many people actually use all their camera will do, and would they use more features than they have now.

I agree. I changed to the Sony a7iii to get some of the advantages it has over the Nikon d7100. I have been very satisfied. Like everything today, I fully expected that shortly after I got the a7iii there would be an upgrade that had more bells and whistles. Great--but I won't need those until or unless my concept of my photography changes. So it's best not to worry about newer products until the really fill a need for you (or unless a GAS attack and coincidental more money come along).

I made the same switch from the Nikon D7100 to the Sony A7 III just over two years ago, and I have never looked back. This is such an amazing camera still worth $2k. The camera does exactly what I need it to do so I am not itching to upgrade either.

If you attend a Sony Demo Days at a photography store you can often get some significant discounts. I bought the FE 200-600 w/ a 25% discount. All cameras were discounted by at least 15%.

Sony discounts and rebates are still on. Ask you camera store . Personally I have both the a7iii and the a7Riv. I got the a7iii to replace my a7S for low light. and the a7Riv to replace my a99ii and a7Riii for everyday and landscape shots. But, bang for the $$$$$ the a7iii is really nice.
