My daughter in Orlando lives 7 minutes from Disney's main gate. I refuse to pay the outrageous prices for admission, parking and everything else!

My wife and I visited Walt Disney World in Orlando in January of this year. We also invited our youngest son to join us. We met our oldest son and his family there for a five day vacation. Our youngest stayed with my wife and me (he is an adult and on his own) since our other son and family had already made reservations.

We had a very nice room on the grounds, four days of one park per day passes each and meal plans for us. The total cost, without airfare to Orlando, was an average of about $137.35 per day per person. Of course that also did not include any souvenors we may have purchased.

We had one free day in there which we used to visit Universal Studios which was an additional charge but worth it to us. Overall I do not think we paid more than $175 a day each, average. For the fun and enjoyment of seeing the happy expressions of our grandchildren and the other visitors to the attraction, it was worth every penny to us. The cherry on top of the sundae was I got some pretty darn nice photos of what happiness looks like.

Yeah, my first reaction about the $30 charge was negative. But actually it is reasonable as a cost to 'going to a movie'.
