The hills of the Palouse region of Washington are covered in fields of alfalfa, wheat, lentils and other grains. The wheat fields were ripe and were golden. The alfalfa was deep green. Some of the other grains were in the process of turning, that added varying shades of green. Getting up high, like on top of Steptoe Butte, clearly showed the varying shades of the area. Driving the back roads got me up close to the crops. Have you ever heard a ripe wheat field "sing" in the breeze? It's awesome!
I'll enjoy reading your comments. I hope you enjoy seeing this lovely region.
Very well taken and beautiful set Kathy.
Wonderful set, Kathy! Did you get up Steptoe Butte?

I did, Mike. That was my first stop my first day. It's a fun drive getting there. COLD on top in the early morning!

I have wanted to visit that region for years. I finally decided there was no time like the present. When you go, plan on spending several days. I did Steptoe Butte VERY early in the morning, and the waterfall that afternoon. Getting from one to the other took me down a lot of country roads - thanks to a GPS! But it was fun and I got to see lots.

Thanks Kathy, I will note this down. I would have loved to go, but with this stupid virus, we decided that it was not worth taking the risk (rightly or wrongly so) - I am glad for you that you made it!
