My favorite abandoned farm is being dismantled - the house was recently razed and the shed is partially destroyed.

I've taken dozens of pictures over the past year in various seasons so at least there is a visual memory of it.

The family farm that began 100+ years ago as a 160 acre homestead is now departing the scene at a rapid pace. The days of farming with horses and small tractors has fallen to large mechanized agriculture.

In Vermont, developers bought the farms to convert to housing. The Shelburne Farms remains now as a not or profit organization which was a previous Vandebilt Estate. Still operating as a Farm.

A friend took pictures of an abandoned farm house, she wasn't happy with the results so she returned the next week. After a two hour drive she found it was being restored. Well maybe in another hundred years.

Actually, it's wonderful that it is being restored. Those old houses can never be replaced.

How sad another farm gone. I remember when I was young, there was a farm house every mile or so in Iowa. Now there are so few small farms.
