I always put a slice of lime in my gin and tonic.

To make a perfect GT, take 5oz. of Tanqueray, pour over 3 ice cubes, add a capful of Schweppes Tonic and a slice of lime, twirl twice and you’re all set...........

I don't do much drinking. I use 5 oz of Schweppes Tonic and a couple capfuls of gin. Whatever the refrigerator puts out in the way of ice. Probably 6-8 small "cubes" (actually more of a lune shape). The slice of lime depends on what I had left from yesterday.

Hey, Dirt Farmer, everyone to their own taste! That’s a “Tonicade” to me and would certainly be refreshing sitting out on the deck looking at the waves break on a Sunday afternoon in July, but when the afternoon temps begin to go down in mid-August looking out on the beach in September, maybe substitute a capful of good dry vermouth for the tonic!!!! (Of Course, when October rolls in, switch to Laphroige!!! [without any ice!]

Alas, I have run out of Laphroaig. All I have is about 1/4 bottle of Robertson's that I bought around 1960.

And I have been told before that I have weird tastes sometimes. Doesn't bother me. Nor do other peoples' tastes bother me. That couple of capfuls of Tanqueray (occasionally Roku) is enough to keep me from being bothered by anything. I view it as a plus that I need so little. It decreases the frequency of restock requirements.
