Over the last few days I have noticed some pluses other than slowing Covid-19 that come from wearing a mask:

1. People don't notice me mumbling to myself when I realize that I forgot something at the far corner of the store.

2. When I wear a maks I don't leave nose prints all over the back screen of my camera.

Maybe if the crook is dumb enough to have a custom mask that is easy to ID and no other like it. Something like needle point with his gang and street name on it.

And lot of them are that dumb. One school I taught at had a place along the LA River in its attendance area named "Frog Town". They had a gang, in cool or rainy weather they all wore knee length overcoats with a bright green 1 foot frog embordered on the back, many of them had their street name stitched where a military name badge would go. In warm weather they had windbreakers or vests with the same frog etc. No wondering if a little jerk belonged to "Frog Town". He came with a label.

So yeah, I could see a gang banger with a custom mask that said something like "Stupid Boys" "Dumb Shit"-founding member.

Oh, the local tailor shop that did the frogs for them told the cops they hoped they all stayed out of jail because they made a lot of money doing those coats and jackets for them. Can you say "Just a bit overpriced!"

A couple more: you can stick your tongue out at anyone not wearing one,
and you don't have to worry about having some spinach stuck between your teeth.

On my local ham radio net tonight, I heard the first direct first person report from a person who, and his entire family, contracted the virus. His daughter, who is a bank teller and was not allowed to wear a mask at work, Apparently caught the virus at work, where reportedly customers often did not wear masks. Of course there is no way to know for sure where she contracted it, but she infected the entire family, including the grandchildren. A month later, everyone is alive, but if you had heard his story, as I did, you would be VERY careful. This is not a short term illness, and his weakness and loss of physical and mental function after a month of illness was chilling to hear. Friends, BE CAREFUL! It’s easy to get lax after months of this, but don’t get sloppy now - the danger isn’t lower, it’s higher, and the consequences are VERY serious.
