B&H Use to Love

I received a add yesterday. tried to place an order by phone (free shipping so I like B&H and called bay photo buddies to see if they want it too and we could order together and save H&H the added shipping cost. 7 said yes) Today at about 9:15 I called to place the order. The sales guy said It was over and out of stock. We went over it and he said it was to be processed by customer service. We have been going back and forth all day. It is partly my fault as when they call back I think my phone blocked it as it is a different number than they list.
I ask for help this time with the operator and waited about 10 minutes and was back at sales, REexplaind it and he said he would send me to a manager. Put on a new wait again and told the time for he or she was approximately 111 min.
If all goes well with B&H they are great, A problem it's hell.

In years of ordering from B&H, I have never had any issues. I once canceled an online order by mistake, contacted a live customer service operator, and had it reinstated.

One of my go to sources.

I didn't either but I don't think all is or was well at B&H as it was the first day back from the vacations. The support just didn't make it today. I will have to hold off till next week now. I never expected B&H to be this way. Lets hope it's an exception today. I'll find out next week if it the day or the way.

Yet another dirty laundry post from only ONE SIDE. We have your version of events and not those of B&H. As a former high school principal, I like to have both sides of the story from each source before forming an opinion.
In your case, we have only heard from the prosecution, and not the defense. And in this case, since I will not be able to hear from the defense, I will not form any opinion.
As to the professionalism of B&H, they are simply the best photography mail order company in business today. My recent experience with them was for a complete camera exchange of a Sony a7rIV. It was simply superb.

It's been my experience when you try to save pennies...you end up losing dollars.

Sorry to hear about your experience but I don’t believe it is typical. I’ve been buying from B&H since the mid eighties. The rare times I’ve had issues, it was quickly fixed. They are tops in customer service. I would not hesitate to purchase anything from B&H. If they sold shoes, I would buy all my shoes from B&H.

I don’t really understand what the problem was you waited a day, you called and they said the promotion was over and item Was sold out. Not sure how that part was B&H’s fault. Then their number was blocked when they tried to call you back because it wasn’t in Your phone list. Again not sure how that reflects poorly on B&H. So you didn’t get your way and a “sales guy” offered to hand you over to customer service to see if they would honor the ad for you. Sounds like that part was pretty good customer service. But then you had a wait and got bounced around a little. Not sure if you have heard but a good part of the country is experiencing a pandemic. B&H is in New York which is still one of the hotspots. They have a reduced staff with most working remotely. Let me repeat that they have a reduced staff that is working remotely. So yes you are right they are not operating at their usual 110% efficiency. But none of that would have been an issue if you had apparently called before the promotion expired or the item sold out. But maybe I am missing something here your story was not the most coherent.

I have been using B&H for over 30 years and never have had a problem. Recently I ordered a rolling camera bag, (on line) and ordered the wrong model. About three hours later I realized my mistake, sent an email to Customer Service and within 15 minutes I had a response with the cancellation of the original invoice and a new invoice for what really wanted. I could not have been happier.

As I thought I said, they are solving the problem. I was pointing out the back up on the first day back from vacations. I also noted I will get back into it This week. B&H is one of the best but I would not give them SaintHoodIf they were perfect the wold not sell NIKON.

Now you can go after me for that.
