Does anyone use PaintShop pro, if so how do you like it ? As compared to elements, aperture or CS5.

I have CS6 and Corelx4, unless you are looking to allot of graphics I would go with Corel. The reason is simply cost.

I now have upgraded to X5-I like it very much it supports curves and is neither better or worse than PS Elements, just slightly different I don't think any software in this price range does everything. But X4/5 is a good buy.

Have both (long story) and Nikon's CaptureNX2. As most of what I do is basic editing, seldom and "bells and whistles" I mostly use NX2. When I want the noise, I use Corel because, as several have said does almost all that Photoshop does and costs less

Another point to consider if you like Black And White is that Paint Shop X5 also has Channel Mixer which PS Elements doesn't

I have used Paint Shop Pro 7 for years and it has always served me well, it was all I needed for editing. I upgraded to Paint shop Pro X3 about 2 or 3 years ago (now Corel). To be perfectly honest it doesn't improve my photos anymore than V7 in spite of the extra bells and whistles. The one thing I do like about PSP X3 is the ability to do a little bit of HDR. I do have Photo-shop Elements 2 as well but I still find PSP 7 easier to use and is still pretty much all I need. Plus the bonus is that Corel is cheaper than Photoshop, so unless you are going to be doing loads of in depth photo editing you may find that PSP is all you will need.

I am reliably informed that "Paint Shop Pro 7" is now available to download from the Internet as freeware. Another free photo editor is "Photo Scape". It is a basic editor but quite useful for those beginners who are just staring out in Photo Editing. I say to those who refuse to do any post editing and refer to it as "Cheating" I say you may be missing out on a exciting part of photography. Post editing can also help us to take better photos by understanding what needs to be done under different conditions. Just an opinion, a bit like a nose, we all have one.

Having retired from pro work some years ago, but still playing as a hobby, all I've been using lately, is Corel Paintshop Pro x and ACDsee. They do all I need. Lately, I do very little pps and shoot more stuff with my Casio Brigade cell then I do with my Pentax 1st D L, but nor am I interested in selling anything any more. If the people that see what I've shot like it and it looks good to me, I,m happy.

Yes I Use It And Really Like It. It Was One Of My First Programs I Learned From. I Do Use Other Programs But Still Really Like The Corel
