I was thinking Assassin bug nymph but the proboscis looks way too long...It's on the underside of a Magnolia leaf...

Assassin bug yes. The requisite four antenna segments and proboscis. And general body shape. But never seen a proboscis that long.
Will have to go digging.

A Martian, absolutely. I first met one on my way to Venus, but didn't pay attention when the Moon lady gave me my ticket, which was for Mars, not Venus.
(The above is but a tribute to Edgar Rice Burrows, and Barsoom, for those who may not get the humor.)

I had someone over on Bugguide say Leaf Footed Bug Nymph and it does resemble one, except for the extremely long Proboscis.

I retract Assassin Bug.
The beak here is four segmented, not three.
The beak is not fitted into a groove.
Still no idea what it is.

Well, it's been positively Id'd as a Leptoglossus fulvicornis- Magnolia Leaf Footed Bug. The nymphs do have the long proboscis ...

Wow! Some plant feeding bugs have a longer proboscis if their preferred food source requires the longer reach. But this is still pretty extreme.
