I have been trying to get some bird shots while quarantined on the beach. Anyway I realize I don't know the name of this guy or many of the names at all. Any help or comments appreciated.

F13 1/1000 ISO 900 on first 800 on 2 and 3.

Bird is a Skimmer, maybe this one: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Black_Skimmer/id Ignore me 😁

You could check in with your local Audubon Society for more info on birds in your area

Excellent set - the second shot is a wall hanger for sure.

The bird is a common tern. Skimmers lower mandible is longer than the upper

Googling it, to me it looks like it could be an Artic Tern.

While not advisable to argue with a lady, one can disagree.
I second Common Tern.
This a mature and in breeding plumage one.
Very similar to Fosters Tern.
Note difference in proximity of black cap to bill difference between Skimmer and Tern.
And of course, the mandible.

Don't feel bad. I titled it Shorebird because I have no idea as to the species. I know someone here will provide the answer. Even if it is after a couple of wrong ones. Thanks for the view and replies!

Thanks for your input. The second shot is just before it drops straight down from 50 ft or more and catches tiny bluefish fry. I have been trying to get them just as they hit the surface but they are so quick I usually only get the splash.
