Challenge: Bird visitors in your yard. July 27th through July 31st.
Found this juvenile Hooded Oriole this morning. He was entangled in his nest and the parents were swooping around and chattering like mad. After getting out our tallest ladder and cutting the strands that were holding him we discovered it was his wing tightly bound and very swollen. Had to take him in to the Wildlife Rescue people hoping they could save his wing so he could go free. Fingers crossed!

As I watched TV tonight, I glanced out the den window, and I saw this guy. He was a week late, but I figure he deserves at least a few minutes {even if not a full fifteen minutes} of fame.
White Ibis visit our yard regularly. Yesterday there were seven feeding in the back yard.
Very nice! Lucky to have so many species in your area.
