I only have a regular laser color printer, if I want to enlarge my picture into 4 pieces of (8x10)papers, and then post them onto a foam board, what is the best way to do it in Photoshop? Or by other freeware? Many thanks

spray adhesive onto Photoshop?
Let me rephrase my question, how to split my picture into 4 quadrants and then print them out in Photoshop?

I think doing this on photoshop would be tedious. I can set my inkjet printer to print a single image on 4 separate pieces of paper. Thats how i print garage sale signs for my wife. If your printer can't do that you might be better off just ordering a large print in the size you want.

First of all, if you want to divide your photo into four 8x10s, it will have to be 4x5 proportion. Then under the View menu, you will find rulers, which will enable you to find the center of each side. Then you can use the crop tool to crop out each quadrant and save it as a separate file. Then size each one to 8x10 and print.

You'll need a proper printer for it. Most printers would not print up to the edge so you'll end up not with an 8X10 but something smaller. Use a printer that can do a bigger paper such as A3, then trim as necessary. Printers will divide the images so they join-up edge to edge. You may need to tape it from the back for a seamless joint. In PS, you'll have the option to have some print overlap/excess which may make it a little bit easier to join several images to create a bigger print.

You can print an 8x10 image on 8.5x11 letter size paper and trim it.

An A4 which was my basis is less than 8.25 inches wide ( 8 1/4) Since some printer has a 3/16 inch allowance from the edges, it will come short of 8x10.

I said letter size, which is 8.5x11. I print 8x10s on it all the time and trim them to 8x10.

Yes. I agree with you and i also do that if that paper is available. That is why i gave you a thumbs up.

I just explained that i was referring to the A sizes. Letter size paper are not readily available some parts of the globe.

do you think I need some excess to overlap? Since my printer cannot do it for me printing the picture into 4 pages as someone said his could, I hope some software can crop the picture into 4 equal quadrants by one button. Hence, I don't have to eyeball to set up the divide lines, crop and save my picture four times. It would be very tedious to perform such simple job, don't you think so?

I would enlarge it to 16X20 in PHOTOSHOP and send the file to a printer.

I would skip P.S. as some printers already have a Poster Mode that takes your image and creates 9 to 12 ...8x10 prints that you can assemble on foam board or matt board with spray adhesive. A lot faster. If your printer lacks this option , consider a print center at your local office store or copy center. Good Luck.

It doesn't seem that tedious to me. I would think I could do it in 10-15 minutes. I don't know of any software that would do it in one touch. I think the difficult part would be mounting the four prints on the board. You should probably take the advice to send it someplace to have a 16x20 print made. The print quality should be better than using a laser printer.

In Photoshop, crop 4 separate quadrants out of the overall image and make 4 separate files and print them separately. Use an Exacto knife and good straight edge along with spray mount. There are special graphic art techniques for doing this project perfectly which I won't go into here but you can get pretty close without them.
