Gambrel roof, hip roof, & gable roof.
I saw this barn from the road several years ago, but it was way back off the road behind the old farmhouse. I stopped by several times to ask if I could photograph it but there was never anyone home, however the dog was barking inside when I knocked & the horses were in the paddock..
I drove by the other day & noticed that the property was for sale & also noticed that the owners had moved out. So I called the real estate company & got permission to photograph the barn. Results below.
All three roof styles in one barn.

Interesting interior. Speaking as a retired carpenter who worked on similar stuff once or twice.

Well spotted and photographed! I appreciated the interior shots. Hope the new owners can keep it alive.
An interesting barn nicely captured. The construction is interesting, a combination of hand hewn and milled lumber. Skilled craftsmanship for sure.
Neat old barn. Love the shots of the interior roof.

I love this series! I put up both loose hay and baled hay in the loft of a similar but smaller barn in the late 50s. Damned hot - but recalled with definite nostalgia!

Well documented - good pics.
interesting. Thanks What state?
Really liked the hayloft shot.
Nice photos of a most interesting barn--good work. I’m jealous--wish I’d seen it first.
